Completion of Service Delivery for GeoInfo at Hess Corporation - November 2010

R7 Solutions is pleased to announce the completion of delivery of services to Hess Corporation in support of that company's GeoInfo application. Built on top of ArcGIS Server in ASP.NET, GeoInfo allows Hess Corporation to quickly catalog, search, download and review complex geophysical data for worldwide oil and gas exploration and production operations.

Open source GIS has been gaining steam for awhile, but only in the last few months has it hit a critical mass that demands the attention of not only researchers and students, but also the mid-range and larger enterprise user.

The FOSS GIS servers, development frameworks and client/server systems now available have become truly competitive with legacy offerings, based on features, functions, reliability and support.

The efforts of the OSGeo foundation are to be greatly credited for this change. With the consolidation of projects, establishment of industry standards, promotion of FOSS ("Free Open Source Software") geographic systems, and especially the active incubation of promising software development projects, FOSS GIS has come of age.

R7 Solutions Updates Nuclear "Blast Map" Application for Harvard University - May 2010

First launched in 2004, we have now upgraded the application in 2010 to include 3D views and urban models from Microsoft Virtual Earth.

With the upgrade, you can now nuke cities in 3D.

New Publisher's Letter from World Oil: Industry Outlook Expected to Improve - April 2010

WO-LOGO-100_70The publisher of World Oil, Ron Higgins, released his annual letter earlier this year and predicted significant improvement in the outlook for the industry.

Among the 2010 forecasts, Higgins expects to see US drilling activity grow by 14.9% over last year with total rig counts up 28% over 2009 and Canadian drilling to rise by 16% over 2009.

He also reports that Houston-based Groppe, Long & Littell predicts a 2010 average price of $80.50/bbl and an average price of $7.15/Mcf at Henry Hub for natural gas, although new domestic production could push that down to $6.50/Mcf.

Hess Corporation Expands Master Services Agreement with R7 Solutions - January 2010

Houston, TX, January 2, 2010 - R7 Solutions announced today that Hess Corporation (NYSE: HES) had renewed and expanded its Master Services Agreement with the company.

The new agreement provides Hess with increased access to software engineering and systems architecture services from R7 Solutions in development of enterprise geospatial and data management applications for worldwide oil and gas exploration. The agreement extends R7 Solutions' support of the project, which began in early 2009.

Hess is continuing the development of the company’s comprehensive map-based exploration and production data management system using Microsoft’s ASP.NET and ArcGIS Server 9.3.
