GeoRoom with SharePoint Integration is a sophisticated integration of two powerful, agile collaboration technologies to provide a best-of-breed solution for the department and distributed enterprise. By combining the web-based GIS and map layer editing capabilities of GeoRoom with the document management, file list organization, and collaboration features of SharePoint, teams can quickly launch and coordinate their geospatial projects.

R7 Solutions uses Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, which is included with Windows Server 2003 and Windows Small Business Server 2003. GeoRoom also integrates with SharePoint Portal Server, a stand-alone enterprise portal server to provide company-wide document management, business intelligence dashboards, client communications portals, and business process management tools to route forms through the organization.

SharePoint also provides a security and framework for hosting advanced Web Parts to publish special information feeds, business intelligence dashboards, and other third-party software inside the corporate portal.

GeoRoom uses the Microsoft Excel Web Component to deliver geospatial and text search query results to the desktop for further analysis, filtering, and selection on the map. SharePoint allows users to open documents directly from the web to Office Suite applications, edit them, and then check them back into SharePoint seamlessly.
