OCC
OCC Solution Overview

The Operations Command Center solution framework was created to help companies or municipalities automate their response process for major incidents and routine maintenance involving their enterprise assets.

The solution consists of sophisticated desktop software running in a command center environment and connected to the company’s existing enterprise databases and telephony server. The system receives phone calls, locates the caller and the nearest company asset, creates a trouble ticket, geo-codes the caller’s location and creates a conference call with the responding team members. It includes powerful GIS and geo-coding capabilities as well as web-based incident reporting for managers and auditors.

Major Functions
  • Dispatch emergency teams to emergency situations and coordinate routine non-critical maintenance.
  • Easy to understand, intuitive interface, based around the Trouble Ticket.
  • Coordinate communications between response teams and the command center for detailed, auditable reporting.
  • Automatically map incoming calls and locate the nearest pipeline and response team.
  • Initiate a bridge conference call to dispatch the response team.
  • Log all incoming calls, tickets and response items with time-stamping.
  • Private web-based intranet application allows managers to remotely monitor response operations in real-time.
  • 100% standards-based; Can be integrated into existing GIS and ERP infrastructure.

Current Usage

The Operations Command Center system is currently used by two of the largest natural gas pipelines in the United States.

For one of these pipeline systems, the software currently handles 18,000 calls annually, including managing trouble tickets, geo-locating incidents and dispatching response teams.

These pipelines include 26,000 miles of pipe crossing 20 different states. The system manages 150 response teams with 1,500 individual responders.
